When I came to California from Scotland a few years ago I had no idea that human rights do not appear to exist in the USA.
My Scottish ancestors were burned out of their homes, herded like cattle to the sea shore and ate seaweed and shell fish to stay alive while they waited for sailing ships to dump them in places like North America and Australia.
I lived on the Island of Mull where the population was around 1800. Before the “Clearances” in the 18th Century over 10,000 people lived there. We’ve progressed somewhat in the last 200 years.
How can USA citizens tolerate the conditions under which the indigenous people live? Do they know? Do they care?
